Whale Watching Hólmavík

Summer Daily About 2 hours Holmavik Harbour Very easy

Come and join us in the unspoiled nature of the magical Westfjords of Iceland for this once in a lifetime tour.

The fjord outside Hólmavík is known to host a lot of humpback whales in the summer. Humpbacks are the favorite species for many whale watchers around the world, as they are the most playful, acrobatic and curious of all the whale species. Up to 30 individuals have been seen in the fjord at any one time between August and October.

Other species we can expect to see are minke whales and white-beaked dolphins. Occasional visitors are blue whales, orcas, pilot whales and possibly even sperm whales.

From June to early August this is also a great tour to see puffins with a large colony of many thousands nearby.

This is the perfect outing for wildlife-enthusiasts or just anyone who wants to experience the local Icelandic marine habitats.
