Sea Kayaking from Snaefellsnes

1. Jun-12. Sept. Daily About 2 hours Stykkisholmur harbour Very easy Min 14 years old

Sea kayaking is a fun way to explore Iceland from a whole new perspective. The tour departs from the harbour in Stykkisholmur, a lovely little village on Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Stykkisholmur is located in Breidafjordur Bay, known for its many small islands and varied wildlife, making it an excellent location for sea kayaking. The guide will take you along the beautiful coastline which provides views of stunning basalt columns, cliffs, and many remote islands. With the abundant wildlife in Breidafjordur, you are likely to see seals and puffins, and if you are lucky you may even be able to see some whales.

The groups for the kayaking tours are small, making the tours beginner friendly. Participants are shown the basic techniques for sea kayaking and the kayaks are stable and easy to use, so no kayaking experience is needed. The guides will be ready to paddle with you and are always in reach if anything should happen or if you simply have a question about the scenery. This tour is an excellent reason to visit Stykkisholmur and a good way to add some excitement to your day, whilst enjoying the stunning surroundings of Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
