Landmannalaugar is very unique geologically, due to the black Laugahraun lava field, that surrounds the area with dried magma and ancient moss, rumoured to have come from an eruption that happened over 500 years ago. But this area is mostly known for being very active geothermal baths, also known as ‘The People’s Pools’.
