Diving in Silfra Day Tour

All year Daily About 6-8 hours Your hotel / guesthouse in Reykjavik Challenging Min 14 years old

Diving in Silfra fissure is an experience not to be missed by any diver, as with its crystal clear glacial water and exceptional visibility it offers a magnificent diving experience, in Thingvellir National Park.

The tour starts with a drive to Thingvellir National Park, the home to the world’s oldest parliaments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Silfra fissure is in lake Thingvallavatn and is situated between the continental plates of America and Europe. It has frequently been rated as one of the top five dive sites in the world and is therefore the ultimate tour for any diver.

Silfra fissure is filled with crystal clear volcanic water that has been filtered over decades by Iceland’s volcanic basaltic rock. On the tour, divers have the opportunity to explore the four main parts of Silfra; the big crack, the hall, the cathedral and Silfra Lagoon. As Silfra is well known for its exceptional underwater visibility of up to 120 meters, the tour offers an unique opportunity to explore the magical nature of Iceland, from below the surface.
