This 12hr Super Jeep tour is an exciting sightseeing opportunity in North Iceland. On this enlightening tour we’ll experience all the best that North Iceland has to offer when it comes to geology, history, and biology.
We’ll pick you up from the Icelandair Hotel by Lake Mývatn, and whisk you away to the Highlands, starting with Herðubreiðarlindir fresh-water springs.
The main attraction of this trip has to be the Askja Caldera, where we’ll hike to the stunning Víti explosion crater, it’s an easy to moderate 2,5km hike from the parking lot. Once there you can take in the surrounding nature or enjoy a soak at Víti, the crater water is 18-24°C, so bring your swimsuit if you’re feeling brave!
Next up we’ll head to Holuhraun lava field, still fresh from it’s 7-month long volcanic eruption in 2014.
