Our tour kicks off in Reykjavik aboard our specially outfitted and modified Super Jeep. First we hit up the fertile farmlands in the south before moving on to epic views of Hekla volcano. Hekla’s 20-30 eruptions have ranged from pretty little tourist attractions to explosive disasters. If the weather allows, we’ll also drive along the volcano’s ridge 900 meters above sea level- this view is magnificent.
Steering our direction to central Iceland, we’ll swing by the explosion crater Ljotipollur before a coffee and lunch break in the stunning Landmannalaugar area. Here we have the opportunity to go on a 1-2 hour hike or have a dip and relax in the natural geothermal hot springs.
Advancing down the Thjorsardalur, our last stop is the Hjalparfoss Waterfall before returning to Reykjavik.
