3 Day Winter Tour: South Coast, Ice Cave, Golden Circle & Northern Lights

October - March Daily 3 days Reykjavík with pick up included Easy Min 12 years old

Join us on an unforgettable three-day adventure along the Icelandic south coast to the magnificent glacier lagoon, Jökulsárlón, as well as formidable waterfalls, volcanic black sand beaches and hike on the biggest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

This tour also includes the classic Golden Circle, which includes Iceland’s biggest attractions, Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, and the Geysir geothermal area. The day also includes a visit to Kerið volcanic crater, and a stop at a traditional Icelandic farm to interact with the unique Icelandic horses and get a taste of home-made Icelandic ice cream.

Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and Gljúfrabúi are some of the beautiful and powerful waterfalls we’ll be visiting on this tour. At Seljalandsfoss you can walk behind the powerful tumbling flow of water.

Heading further east, we’ll visit the volcanic black sand beach of Reynisfjara where you’ll witness the unique basalt columns and unique rock formations in the cliffs above the sand. To finish off this unforgettable adventure we’ll hike an outlet glacier that spawns from the one of the largest glaciers in the country.

After meeting our highly trained glacier guides and strapping on our safety and glacier equipment, including helmets, harnesses, crampons and ice axes we hike on the ice for an hour and a half. A spectacular experience and opportunity to learn more about this breathtaking and increasingly rare natural phenomena.

Arriving at our hotel in the Southeast, you will then meet your guide after dinner for further information about the Northern Lights, weather and Aurora forecast and a good spot to look at them. If the sky is clear and the forecast is good, we can hope for the magic to begin.

But the tour isn’t over yet, more adventure awaits you at the Glacier Lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lake fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Where we’ll walk along the banks of the glacier lagoon enjoying the magnificent views and dead silence of Icelandic nature.

On the other side of the road the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean. The ice comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts, which is why this beach is often called ‘Diamond Beach’.

And now the piece de resistance!  The Ice cave tour, where you’ll meet our professional guides, hop into our tricked-out super jeep and embark on a thrilling journey up the glacier where the blue ice caves are located. Once there you’ll enter the unique phenomena which is the blue ice cave.

This is the ultimate Icelandic experience with a small group and experienced guide guaranteed. We’re waiting, so let’s go, come on this adventure with us!
