On this 2-Day Þórsmörk overnight tour you will explore the valley of mighty Thor, the Thunder God. You will enjoy the wilderness of outstanding panoramic views whilst breathing fresh mountain air.
This tour departs from Hvolsvöllur, we’ll head into Þórsmörk in our Super Jeep, we’ll drive through extreme conditions that a normal car couldn’t handle, including onto Gígjökull glacier, where the landscape has evolved dramatically since the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption.
We’ll make our way to Húsadalur is our overnight accommodation, either in a tent or in a mountain hut (optional upgrade). For dinner we’ll have some delicious traditional lamb. We will spend the night sharing stories and enjoying the remoteness, beauty and tranquility of Þórsmörk.
On Day 2, (after a nice breakfast) we’ll continue to explore Þórsmörk valley. Once we’re satisfied we’ll visit the stunning and powerful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the curtain of water (if you dare!). Finally we’ll check out some volcanic black sand beaches as we reach the Atlantic coast.
The itinerary is quite flexible, depending on conditions and group wishes.

2 DAY – Þórsmörk– Þórsmörk Exploration – black beaches – waterfalls – your accommodation
