Explore the attractions of the South Coast, all the way from Reykjavik to Vik in Myrdal, before spending the evening looking for the spectacular Northern Lights. The tour departs from Reykjavik in the morning, and starts with a drive through lava fields, close by the volcanic mountain Hengill. On clear days you will see Hekla Volcano, and in the distance the glacier-capped Eyjafjalljokull Volcano can be seen. Just a few kilometers off the coastline, you might also be able to see the stunning Westman Islands, or Vestmannaeyjar. The first stop will be at the 60-meter high Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, that is well known for the hidden pathway that lies behind it. Afterwards, you will stop at the powerful Skogafoss Waterfall, where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Iceland’s most scenic views.
On this South Coast tour, you will be able to see Solheimajokull on the way to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. There, the powerful Atlantic Waves crash on the black sands, and the jagged basalt sea stacks and the huge basalt-column cave, are a sight to behold. The last stop will be at Vik in Myrdal, the southernmost village in Iceland. Despite its small size, with only 291 inhabitants, it is the largest settlement for a 70 km stretch. Afterwards, you will be able to enjoy the scenic drive along the South Coast all over again, when driving back to Reykjavik for the Northern Lights tour.

The weather in Iceland can be unpredictable so please dress in warm and waterproof clothing. We recommend a waterproof jacket and trousers, hats and gloves and sturdy walking boots.
