Into The Glacier & Snowmobiling

The Langjokull Glacier Tour gives a truly amazing perspective of Iceland, where you will be able to enjoy snowmobiling on Langjokull Glacier, before exploring the man made Langjokull Ice Tunnel.

The Langjokull Glacier Tour sets off from Reykjavik, driving towards the highlands above Husafell, in The West of Iceland. At the glacier base camp, Jaki, you will receive an essential safety briefing and be given the necessary clothing needed for your Langjokull Snowmobile Tour. Driving across the vast snowy ground of Langjokull Glacier and enjoying the incredible surroundings provides a great start to this adventure. The snowmobile ride will take you all the way to the famous Langjokull Ice Tunnel and Ice Cave, where the next part of the trip takes place.

At Langjokull Ice Tunnel, the guides will take you on a fantastic journey into the icy netherworld deep within the glacier, and towards the magnificent man made Ice Cave. Until very recently, what lay beneath the surface of Langjokull Glacier was a mystery, but sometimes bold ideas can become a reality. This seemingly impossible feat of creating a 500 meter long ice cave, was made possible through the combined efforts of Iceland’s top engineers and geo-physicists.

After the snowmobiling and Ice Caving adventure, the group will be driven towards Husafell, a small village in Borgarfjordur Valley. Due to its stunning landscape and natural surroundings, this is a very popular area for visitors, and an ideal place for a soak in the thermal swimming pool and hot tub. This action packed day is truly a day to remember, with its unique aspects and beautiful Icelandic surroundings.
