The tour first stops at Þingvellir National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, of historical importance, where Icelandic parliament was founded in 930, making it the longest running parliament in the world.
Afterwards, you’ll stop and view the magnificent Gullfoss glacial waterfalls, which is stands at over 100 feet tall.
Next up is the geothermal hot-spot known as Geysir, with its numerous gushing hot springs and geysers, the Strokkur geyser erupts ever five minutes and can reach heights of up to 130 feet!
The tour doesn’t just stop there, next we’ll head off to visit Efstidalur farm, which has been maintained by the same family since 1850. This Icelandic family-run business sticks to traditional Icelandic farming techniques and focuses on horse and cattle breeding. You’ll be able to enjoy their tasty farm-to-table dairy products, see the stunning mountain views and pet the friendly farm animals.
The Kerið volcanic crater was formed in an eruption over 3,000 years ago. Some believe that it was formed in a vast explosion. The more likely theory is that the volcanic cone collapsed into its own magma chamber after the eruption finished. Kerið is the perfect place to learn more about Icelandic geological history and observe a mind-blowing natural wonder.
