Strokkur is very dependable and erupts every few minutes, whereas the bigger Geysir erupts very rarely now days. There are also more than 40 other smaller hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles in the area.
Only a few minutes away from the Geysir Geothermal Area we will find Gullfoss waterfall which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. There you will witness the mighty Hvítá glacial river as it plunges into a 32-meter deep gorge.
