This two-hour ATV and buggy tour is the perfect way to a experience a unique adventure in the beautiful Reykjanes Peninsula (in the south of Iceland), and have fun while doing it.
This tour is ideal for thrill-seekers, but could also be suitable for the whole family. The ATVs and buggies are automatic and easy to drive (though a driver’s license is required for the driver), but you don’t need any previous ATV or buggy experience to ride. The minimum age to take part of the tour is 6 years old, and don’t worry, all safety gear is provided, though we do recommend wearing clothing suitable for the outdoors. If you can’t decide between an ATV or buggy you can switch halfway through the tour, or whenever you please.
This is your chance to adventure through mysterious lunarscape lava fields, a rare volcanic black sand beach, and experience raw untouched Icelandic nature, so don’t forget your camera!
Your English-speaking guide will lead you on a ATV trail that runs through various mossy lava fields filled with volcanic craters, and all the way to the Selatangar (Sealbay) black sand beach. On the beach you’ll encounter some native Icelandic birdlife, and maybe if you’re lucky, you might spot a seal. On the way back you’ll get a great view of the unique Icelandic horses, who dwell outdoors all-year-round, thanks to their thick winter coat.
At the end of the two hour tour, if we have enough time, we’ll head to the summit of Mt.Hagafell for a magnificent 360’ panoramic view overlooking the entire surrounding area.
Driver’s licence is required for the ATV driver.
The tour begins at our base at 11:00 and 15:00 daily.
You can try out both an ATV and buggy during this tour, just ask if you feel like switching rides.
