After we have picked you up from your accommodation in Reykjavik, we’ll drive to the beautiful town of Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, located about 2 hours from Reykjavik. Once the guide has gone over the equipment and safety rules with you than the adventure begins.
Once we are at the open sea, you can expect to see much wildlife, including puffins, eider ducks and white-tailed eagle. While paddling you may also be accompanied by curious seals and the occasional whale while overlooking the hundreds of islands Breiðafjörður has to offer. After about 6 km of paddling, we arrive at a remote island in the fjord, where we’ll set up camp and sleep for the night.
Overnight: Remote island of the west coast of Iceland (camping)
In the morning we set out on the sea again after breakfast and continue our adventure. On the return journey we will follow the coastline back to the mainland. We should be back to shore at Stykkishólmur in the early afternoon.
After completing our kayaking tour we will take a sightseeing tour around Snæfellsnes Peninsula. On this part of the tour you will enjoy views of mountain, glacier, waterfall, lava fields and an old traditional church. Our first stop is the famous Mountain Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall.
